leh Ladakh

The region of Ladakh bears snowcapped mountains of the Great Himalayas and the Karakoram with quaint little hamlets and crumbling old monasteries hide in the rocky cliffs. The Buddhists monasteries are the most distinguishing feature of Ladakh in which the Hemis monastery is the largest monastery of Ladakh with an exquisite painting of Lord Buddha. Some other monasteries of Ladakh are Alchi, Lamayuru, Likir, Spituk, Thikse, Stakana, Sankar etc. which attracted the tourist from all over the world. Leh is the most significant town in the region along with some other Leh-Ladakh region like Leh palace, Shey Palace, Stok Palace, monasteries of Phiyang, Hemis, Thiksey, Likir, Spituk, Alchi, Lakes of Pangong and Tso-moriri etc.
